Success story of the UNIFERTEX (UNIversal FERmenTor Expert)
Posté le 29/03/2019

The UNIFERTEX has been developed in collaboration with the CNRS as part of the European TASCMAR Project. It shows once again the expertise of PIERRE GUERIN in microbial fermentation and cell cultivation.
This equipment has been financed by TASCMAR European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program and completed by PIERRE GUERIN facility in Niort, France in order to be presented on PIERRE GUERIN’s booth during the Achema Trade Show 2018 in Frankfurt Germany.
The UNIFERTEX has been patented in co-ownership between the CNRS and PIERRE GUERIN and has been built at the PIERRE GUERIN plant in Niort. The CNRS team visited PIERRE GUERIN’s facilities to achieve the factory acceptance test and so forth deploy the equipment at the ICSN (Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles) Pilot Unit, located on the CNRS campus in Gif-sur-Yvette (Paris region).
UNIFERTEX (UNIversal FERmenTor EXpert) offers a unique opportunity to microbiologists to carry out solid and liquid state fermentations in parallel. Microbial fermentation technology has recently introduced new techniques to facilitate the implementation of experiments. However, the whole shape, accessories and processes have remained the same for centuries. Few operators act in the field and the market is shared among them with equivalent offers. With the experience of Platotex developed by CNRS and built by PIERRE GUERIN and an international benchmark and survey including various operators and end-users, CNRS and PIERRE GUERIN developed a clear idea on how to move beyond the state of the art by covering every application in the microbial fermentation field. This is what we call the “UNIVERSAL FERMENTER”.
